You've been chosen

We all know the disappointment of being chosen last.  Maybe you weren't chosen but was the only person left standing, not belonging to a team, so a team reluctantly 'chose' you.

In God's world this scene NEVER takes place.  God tells us through Peter: " But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted." (1 Peter 2:9,10, The Message). Before He created me, or the world, God chose ME.  I am NOT an afterthought in God's mind, but a treasure!

There will be times when God pulls me away from danger and the pleasures of this world that I so desperately want.  It hurts a lot, but His goal is to have me live with Him in eternity forever.  I thank God everyday for choosing me and then patiently loving me.
