About us

Our school is a place where children can work in the presence of God and the influence of His Word every hour of their school life.  By this influence, and with the Spirit's guidance, the children learn to live a life that is God-pleasing and governed by the Word of God.  Since they study all subjects in the light of the Word of God, the children learn to know their Creator, their Savior from sin, and their Sanctifier; as well as the kind of life they are expected to live under the power and influence of God.  Thus, children are prepared not only for this life and this world, but especially for the life and the world to come, as God himself has prepared it for them.

We need to remember that the only things we can take with us to heaven are our children.  That makes them an awesome and wonderful responsibility given to us from God.

So that our children might have what Jesus called “the one thing needful” Immanuel congregation provides and supports this Lutheran Elementary School.  The success of this school depends on the single-minded focus of the students, parents, and faculty on this “one thing needful.”

Immanuel Lutheran School (ILS) is a school for students in grades K3 (preschool) through eighth grade established to provide high quality Christian education and training. All that we teach is based upon Scripture, which we hold to be entirely the Word of God.

We strive to achieve two objectives. We seek to prepare children for eternity by learning about Jesus and his forgiveness. We also seek to develop good citizens for our community and country. Jesus stated that these are the greatest of all the commandments: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind" and "Love your neighbor as yourself." We seek to instill this in our children by example and instruction. The Lord is gracious to promise that he will see that all other things are added to us according to our needs. (Matthew 6:33)

Immanuel Lutheran School has been established and is supported primarily by the members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. In keeping with the Lord’s directive to let the little children come unto Him, our school welcomes children whose parents are not members our church. Immanuel Lutheran School is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).
